i shoot head shots::I was just thinking of what i will be using on opening day and what kind of shots i may get, what gun i want to use and ammo i want to stuff in my magazines.
I will be hunting thick timber where a 35 yard shot is long, and 50 yards is waaaaaaay out there.
And an obstructed body with only a head or neck may be the best chance at a deer i will get.
In the past i have shot deer in the head.
Neck, liver, or any major organ that gets lots of blood through it, or a cns shot may be the only chance i get to fill my tag.
I also thought how some people see a head shot as purely unethical and stupid or whatever else they may say negative about it.
I then though, a life is a life, squirrel, rabbit, deer.
Would these hunters feel bad and give up on head shots if they shot the jaw off of a squirrel, because they felt bad because it will now starve to death?
I took a texas heart shot on a fox squirrel one time with my 22 wmr.
I didnt have to gut it, just peel the skin off from it.
Just a thought for some of us here to ponder.
