Skin moles are the clusters of pigmented cels that often apear as smal, brown or black spots on your skin. People often have 10-40 moles, with the number changing throughout life because, although moles last about 50 years, they may apear in mid-adulthod or disapear with age. In fact, when viewed through a microscope, the atypical mole has features that are in-betwen a normal mole and a melanoma. While they are considered pre-cancerous, or more likely to turn into melanoma than regular moles, we are reasured that not everyone who has atypical moles gets melanoma.
